About Us

Meta-analysis software, especially comprehensive ones, can be costly. Too costly for researchers in developing countries, and in most cases also for students and researchers simply interested in learning more in a practical way. The MIX program combines comprehensiveness with an unparalleled price (it’s free!). On top of that, it’s incredibly easy to use (we think) and runs in a familiar Excel environment. So why hesitate, simply download it and see for yourself. Learn about meta-analysis while actually performing one with the built-in data sets. Or use the program while teaching ‘by the book’. And let’s not forget simply entering your own data sets to do a complete meta-analysis and produce a wide variety of Excel-based graphs and tables for articles and presentations.

One caveat: we’re still developing and we update regularly. If you want to stay up-to-date, just send us an e-mail and we’ll put you on our mailing list. You can also use the mailing list submission form.

Development and downloads

Currently, the program development is part of my PhD projects at the Department of Medical Informatics of Kitasato University and the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care of the UMC Utrecht. However, to keep the program freely available, we are looking for a sponsor or sponsors that can ensure continuity of the development of a new interface, compatibility with Vista and office 2007, meta-regression, and Bayesian methods, amongst others. We are are looking for financial support, and thinking about a combination of an academic institution and a publisher of scientific (meta-analysis) books. If you have ideas or a proposal, send me an e-mail!
